Sarnj Rai B.A., J.D.
Sarnj Rai is a senior trial lawyer with experience in a broad variety of litigation matters. Sarnj mainly practices in the areas of family law, civil litigation, ICBC breaches and personal injury matters. Sarnj also has experience in Wills and Estates matters, including drafting wills and probating wills.
Sarnj was called to the bar in 2013 and in addition to earning her Juris Doctor in law, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree at Simon Fraser University and majored in Criminology. Prior to attending law school, Sarnj worked for the R.C.M.P. for both the Major Crime Section/Homicide Unit and the 2010 Vancouver Integrated Security Unit.
Sarnj has extensive litigation and trial experience in both the Provincial Court of British Columbia and the Supreme Court of British Columbia. She has a hands on approach to all of her files. Sarnj ensures that her client’s matters are dealt with in a cost effective and efficient manner.
Sarnj has expertise and a wealth of practical experience in family law. She has dealt with a variety of complex family matters including adoptions, separation/marriage/cohabitation agreements, divorce, property and asset division, custody/guardianship, business valuations, pension valuation, spousal support and child support issues (retroactive and prospective support), parental alienation and among other complex family law matters. Sarnj has experience with various forms of alternative dispute resolution (mediation, arbitration, 4-way meetings, direct negotiations, parenting coordinators etc.) to aid in resolving her client’s matters.
Sarnj also currently works at a law firm Surrey, British Columbia. She is well versed in Punjabi. Sarnj is an active participant in the legal community. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA), the Trial Lawyers’ Association of British Columbia, and South Asian Bar Association (SABABC).
In her spare time, Sarnj enjoys working out and travelling.
